Expert Criticizes Hellenic Train’s Scientific Fantasy Report on Tempi Tragedy

Costas Lakafosis, the expert representing the families of the victims, described the Hellenic Train report on the Tempi tragedy as a ‘well-drawn scientific fantasy.’ Speaking on the show ‘You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet’ on February 23, 2025, Lakafosis stated that the technical report cannot hold up in court for even five minutes. He pointed out several unbelievable assumptions made in the report, such as the wire being cut, remaining suspended in the air, and eventually hitting the transformer’s hole despite the power not being cut off. Furthermore, Lakafosis criticized the inclusion of a fabricated photograph staged for the report. He emphasized that discussions based on such evidence would be dismissed quickly in court. The expert concluded by stating that someone must explain not only the moment of ignition but also the duration of the fire, highlighting that combustion requires flammable material.
