New footage has emerged showing the movements of a 28-year-old Turkish national suspected of fatally shooting a fellow Turkish citizen in Athens’ Exarchia neighborhood on June 13, 2026. The video, aired by SKAI TV, captures the suspect walking toward Exarchia approximately one hour before the killing — heading specifically toward Strefi Street, where the victim regularly walked his dog.
Key Details from the Footage
In the clip, the suspect is seen wearing black clothing, a cap, and earphones connected to his mobile phone. According to police sources cited in the report, he was either receiving real-time instructions related to the murder or following GPS-guided audio directions to locate his target.
Arrest and Alleged Motive
The suspect was arrested earlier this week by Greek authorities. During questioning, he reportedly stated he had arrived in Greece four days prior to the crime — entering illegally from Istanbul. He spent one night in Thessaloniki before traveling to Athens. Authorities say he was given a photograph of the 25-year-old victim and €18,000 (1 million Turkish lira) to carry out the killing, along with specific instructions on where to find him.
After committing the murder in Exarchia, he allegedly prepared to leave Greece but was apprehended before departure.
