Exarcheia Incident: Syrian Asylum Seeker Attacks Three Women in Athens

A 36-year-old Syrian refugee, residing in Greece under political asylum, attacked three young women in central Athens on Friday evening (April 25, 2025). The incident occurred near the intersection of Solonos and Harilaou Trikoupis streets in Exarcheia. Witnesses report that the man aggressively grabbed one of the 22-year-old victims by the arm, threw her to the ground, and shouted repeatedly for sex. Despite attempts by the victim’s friends to intervene, they were unable to pull him off due to his relentless grip. Passersby eventually restrained the attacker until police arrived and placed him under arrest. The suspect is scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday.
