From the seas and beaches to causing great concern to the inhabitants. Thousands of purple jellyfish with tentacles have washed up the sea in Evia and specifically on the beaches of Lian Ammos and Kourenti according to evima.gr. CORVERSE Beyond the sandy beaches and in the sea the jellyfish are many and colorful. Scientists say this phenomenon is due to climate change, but the concern of residents in view of the summer season is enormous. CORVERSE What if we get pinched? The Greek Biodiversity Observatory has proposed a first aid kit for the beach. As he notes, it is good to have the following with us on the beach so that we can deal with the sting of the jellyfish: A plastic card (e.g. old credit card). A tweezer. One cup (e.g. urinal). Some baking soda (ratio 1:1 with sea water). Antihistamine pill. Some cortisone cream. Care steps Wash carefully with sea water without rubbing the area of the pinch. If available, apply a mixture of seawater and baking soda (in a ratio of 1:1) for two minutes to stop any additional secretion of poison from possible remains of tentacles cells left on the skin. We use a plastic bank card or something similar (and not our hands) to remove the mixture of baking soda as well as any residues from our skin.
