European elections 2024: Where I vote and what applies to digital identity at the polling center

Some electors wonder if they can vote with digital identity when they attend the electoral center that belongs to them. The answer is affirmative. Through the digital identity, accessible to the website , voters can become their own person. Elections are invited to highlight 21 MEPs among the 1,168 candidates distributed to 31 parties. Overall, the new composition of the European Parliament will consist of 720 MEPs. In addition to their digital identity, voters may provide the relevant temporary confirmation of the competent authority or their passport or driving licence or individual health booklet of all insurance funds to the tax committee. It should also be noted that any “cut” police identities are acceptable. For passports, it is noted that a Greek passport has expired, even if it has been issued by the relevant county government before the transfer of the relevant competence to the Greek Police. European Union citizens shall be recognised on the basis of a valid identity card or valid passport or driving licence. Which I vote through the interior ministry platform, voters can locate the voting polling center. Voters must fill in the following elements: Surname (full), Name (at least 2 characters), Father’s name (at least 2 characters), Mother’s name (optional), Birth Year (4 digits). Then you press “Search” and all the necessary information will appear such as: your special election number, your personal details, the electoral district to which you belong, the municipal unit, the municipality, regional unity, the district, the county as well as your electoral department. In the area of the polling center, the exact address and link of the map, which if you press, you will see how you will head there through Google Maps. How many crosses do I put on the ballot? Elections may express their preference for a maximum of four candidates for the combination, noting on the ballot next to the name of each preference cross. The preference cross is marked with a black or blue stylograph. However, if more than four preference crosses are placed by an elector, this ballot is not invalid but is counted in favour of the combination, without any preference cross being taken into account. When the polls close The polls opened at 07:00 in the morning and closed at 19:00 in the afternoon. With the expiry of the time limit set and if it is found that there are still voters wishing to exercise their electoral right, the committee may extend the vote for a maximum of two hours. Where the vote is suspended for any reason, it shall be extended by agreement of the representative of the judicial authority for a period equal to the duration of any interruption. In exceptional and fully justified cases, the Committee may extend the vote beyond two hours and from the time of the holidays until the number of voters present has been exhausted. When will the results come out? Two hours after the ballot is closed, i.e. around 21:00, we will have a first picture of the results of the European elections, as well as which parties have managed to pass the 3% threshold. Around 23:00 it is estimated that there will be a first picture of the crucification of a total of 1,168 candidate MEPs distributed to 31 parties. According to a relevant circular from the Ministry of Interior, the results will be transmitted by all polling stations (vote with self-representation and sorting of ballots of epistolic vote) directly to the Ministry of Interior, using the safe transmission of results (SRT). At the same time as this process, the results in favour of combinations of voting units with self-representative presence will be sent in print to the Municipalities and through the Municipalities, using the IRIS 2.0 Electronic Document Transfer System’s voting system to the Regional Units, which will transmit them to the Ministry of Interior. The results of the ballot sorting sections will be sent in paper form directly to the Ministry of the Interior, where they will also be registered in the IRIS 2.0 Electronic Document Trading System. At the same time, the original result form in favour of combinations is delivered within the electoral bag to the Court of First Instance for the voting groups with a self-representative presence and to the General Taxor monitoring the voting process by an epistolic vote for the electoral ballot sorting sections of epistolic votes. If for any reason it is not possible to send the result in favour of candidates using the secure transmission device (SRT), then and only then, the judicial representative or respectively the President of the Judiciary Committee for the Selection of Official Vote, shall register the result in favour of candidates in the transmission form for candidates and then: (a) for voting groups with a self-representative presence, the judicial representative shall hand over to an authorised official of the Municipality (a messenger) the transmission form for candidates; (b) for the election boards of epistolic votes, the chairman of the Editorial Committee for Letters Vote shall deliver the form for candidates.
