The priorities that need to be introduced into its area, said the new president of the Association of European Car Manufacturers (ACEA), Ola Kalenius, in a letter to its leaders, in order to ensure competitiveness and reduce emissions of pollutants. He pointed out that the industry is facing a major challenge from global competition, geopolitical tensions and there is a more complex system of increasing electric drive. “The European Green Agreement must constantly be subject to controls and the errors presented must be corrected. The EU car industry must remain committed to its climate neutrality objective, as well as to the shift towards transport and mobility with zero emissions,” said the new ACEA president. CORVERSE According to him, the most urgent action that needs to be taken is to regulate the limits of emissions of pollutants, but also the imminent large fines in case the car companies do not catch their targets. All of this when the latest figures show a decrease of almost 6% in the classifications of new electric cars in 2024. It is worth noting that in recent times the share of electric cars has been reduced when there should be an increase in sales to catch the targets of emissions of pollutants and there should be no large fines.
