in

A major problem with cases at the European U20 Basketball Championship (B’ Category) held in Sofia. Lots of athletes in the hospital. “Loses” and for the match with Switzerland. According to the information from the EEC, a dozen cases of gastroenteritis have been presented to athletes and members of missions at the European U20 (Second Division) Championships held in Sofia with the problem of having also affected the National Youth Women. For the current (13.07.2024) race of the National Greece with Switzerland five athletes have been knocked out, while two others are doubtful. All teams involved in the event have casualties and indicative of the situation is that 33 athletes had to be taken to hospital for hospitalization. All Greek athletes are under medical supervision and did not have to be hospitalized. By FIBA decision games today and tomorrow (two last days of the games) will be held normally, while the cause, which caused gastroenteritis, has still not been known. Note that the contribution of the National Women’s Doctor Kiki Tsakiri, who along with one of her colleagues from Croatia’s mission offered significant help to all groups, was important.
