The festival, which was addressed to children and adolescents aged 2-18, gathered more than 15,500 visitors, offering a chance to young and old people to enjoy two days full of activities, creative workshops and games for the whole family. For the second consecutive time, the Museum of Cycladic Art created a multi-thematic arts festival, outside its premises, accessible to all children. The Athens Conservatory, as a central area of the festival, hosted a variety of activities that included theatre, music, dance, cinema, puppet theatre, narratives and visual workshops, aiming to entertain and inspire everyone who attended it. At the same time, Aristotle High School, as an archaeological site, was the focus of original actions and educational programs, enabling children to walk around Athens and experience interactively various aspects of everyday life in ancient Greece. The exhibition of this year’s 11th Children’s Painting Competition of the Museum of Cycladic Art, entitled “Today’s Stories of Ancestry”, which was hosted in the foyer of the Conservatory of Athens. The competition, which took place for another year with the support of Eurolife FFH, gathered 12,000 entries from children 4 to 15 years from all over Greece and abroad. In the context of the competition, children had the opportunity to capture images of their everyday life within the outline of a vase, creating works reflecting modern life, as they would like to share with future generations. For Eurolife FFH, it is worth standing next to people and encouraging them to achieve more daily, so it supports initiatives focusing on children and family. Through its timeless collaboration with the Museum of Cycladic Art, it strengthens the contact of children with art and supports actions that cultivate their knowledge, imagination and skills.
