Eurobank and Estonia-based Inbank have signed an agreement to establish a 50/50 joint venture that will develop a leading embedded finance platform in Greece. The platform will offer Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solutions, point-of-sale financing, and consumer credit products.
A Strategic Move Amid Digital Commerce Growth
As e-commerce expands and consumer payment preferences evolve, the partnership aims to bring seamless, digital-first credit solutions directly into merchant ecosystems — at the moment of purchase. The joint venture will combine Eurobank’s strong local presence in Greece, its extensive customer reach, and financing capabilities with Inbank’s proven embedded finance technology platform and experience across multiple European markets.
Leadership Perspectives
Fokion Karavias, CEO of Eurobank, said: “Embedded finance is reshaping how consumers access credit — bringing it closer to the point of purchase, faster and fully digitally enabled. Our collaboration with Inbank merges Eurobank’s deep roots in the Greek market with a battle-tested embedded finance platform and operating model. Together, we are uniquely positioned to lead this space in Greece.”
Priit Põldoja, CEO of Inbank, added: “Developing embedded financing solutions around merchant ecosystems has been central to Inbank’s strategy from day one. Greece is an attractive market, and Eurobank is the ideal partner — with local credibility, strategic ambition, and strong customer trust. Combined with Inbank’s technology platform, we can build something truly meaningful.”
Regulatory Path and Timeline
Both parties have initiated the licensing process with the Bank of Greece. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027, pending all necessary regulatory approvals.
