Two significant projects by Eunice Energy Group in Western Macedonia are moving into the construction phase. As highlighted during an event on Thursday (April 3, 2025) in Kozani, decarbonization has paved the way for new developments in the region. The data center being built in Amyntaio with a capacity of 5 MW is the first of its kind in the area and represents an investment worth 40 million euros. By September 2025, the permitting process is expected to be completed, with construction lasting 12-14 months. During construction, 200 workers will be employed, while 95 will be hired permanently. This is just the beginning, as the company aims for 50 megawatts from data centers. “We chose Western Macedonia due to the network infrastructure, massive photovoltaic production, energy storage capabilities, and ideal temperature for data centers,” stated Eunice. Additionally, there was mention of the large-scale battery energy storage project, Ptolemaida BESS, budgeted at 300 million euros. Construction is expected to start by year-end, lasting 20-22 months, employing 100 permanent workers.
