A serious road accident occurred on Monday afternoon (6 July 2026) near the village of Pournos in the municipality of Dirfys-Messapia, on the island of Euboea.
According to Evia Online, the crash involved a car carrying five people. For reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the road and overturned — leaving four of the five occupants injured and trapped inside. Only the fifth person managed to exit the vehicle unassisted.
Police and fire service units responded immediately to the scene. Firefighters assisted in extricating the trapped individuals, after which all four injured passengers were transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Chalcis.
The victims are reported to be French nationals. First aid was administered on-site by members of the Euboea Rescue Team before their transfer to hospital.
