EU: We can deal with stopping Russian gas

The European Commission (p. ) has downgraded the impact of the current (1.1.2024) interruption of Russian exports to Europe via Ukraine saying that it was expected and that the European Union (EU) is prepared for it. “European gas infrastructure is flexible enough to provide non-Russian gas to central and eastern Europe through alternative routes,” said a representative of the Commission. “It has been strengthened since 2022 with new possibilities of introducing liquefied natural gas (LNG),” he added.
