EU proposes sanctions against Chinese companies supporting Russian war efforts

The European Union ( ) proposes to impose on several Chinese companies alleged to have supported Russian companies in the development of war drones used against Ukraine, according to Bloomberg. In addition to sanctions in China, the EU is considering whether it should impose sanctions on more Russian oil tankers in order to limit Moscow’s ability to circumvent existing restrictive measures. The proposals come at a time when the G7 foreign ministers meet this week in Italy to promise “appropriate measures” against China and other countries supporting Russia’s war effort in Ukraine.
