The Council of the European Union ( ) extended until 30 November 2025 the restrictive measures imposed on Turkey due to its non-illegal activities in the Eastern Mediterranean in 2019. The restrictive measures consist of asset freeze and EU travel ban for persons listed on the list. The EU therefore maintains the targeted restrictive measures for persons or entities responsible or involved in unauthorised hydrocarbon drilling activities in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is recalled that on 11 November 2019 the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/1894 concerning restrictive measures in view of Turkey’s unauthorised drilling activities in the Eastern Mediterranean. This penalty regime is a direct follow-up to the conclusions of the European Council of 17-18 October 2019.
