Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has once again reaffirmed Turkey’s unwavering support for the so-called ‘two-state solution’ in Cyprus. Speaking to reporters upon his return from occupied Nicosia, Erdogan emphasized that the ‘Turkish Cypriot people’ would secure recognition of their sovereign equality and equal international status on the island. He stressed that Turkey will remain steadfast in supporting the vision of a two-state solution proposed by Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar.

“We continue to fully support the two-state solution vision put forward by President Tatar,” Erdogan stated. “Turkey will always stand by the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ in this journey and remain an ally through the ages.” Furthermore, Erdogan highlighted Turkey’s role as both motherland and guarantor country, asserting that its support for the ‘Turkish Cypriot people’ remains unchanged.

In response to questions about Turkey’s defense industry, Erdogan boasted about the nation’s advancements, describing it as a “bright star” globally due to its indigenous productions. He specifically mentioned unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), defensive systems, and communication technologies as transformative innovations in modern warfare.

This statement comes shortly after diplomatic sources warned that any actions aimed at creating fait accompli situations in the occupied territories constitute extremely negative developments. The reunification of Cyprus within the agreed framework of the United Nations remains a consistent objective.
