EOF Warns of Dangerous Substances in Herbal Products

The National Organization for Medicines (EOF) has issued a warning to consumers not to purchase or use the products FOR X5 COFFEE PREMIUM HERBAL POWDER, FOR X5 MAGIC MIXED HERBAL POWDER, and OZLEX TEA, which may have entered Greece via e-commerce. Laboratory tests revealed that FOR X5 COFFEE PREMIUM HERBAL POWDER and OZLEX TEA contain undeclared sibutramine and sildenafil—pharmaceutical substances banned or restricted due to serious health risks, especially for the cardiovascular system. Sibutramine was withdrawn from the EU market in January 2010 over safety concerns. FOR X5 MAGIC MIXED HERBAL POWDER was found to contain undeclared cyproheptadine and dexamethasone—potent drugs with significant side effects when used without medical supervision. Cyproheptadine is an antihistamine and serotonin antagonist, sometimes misused for weight gain; uncontrolled use poses severe health hazards. Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid, carries risks of adverse reactions, particularly when combined with other medications. Consumers are urged to avoid these products immediately.
