The EOF has issued a ban on the distribution and availability of the product ‘Himalaya Herbal Healthcare Liv.52.DS’ from The Himalaya Drug Company in India due to the presence of the ingredient Solanum Nigrum. According to EOF, this ingredient has not been evaluated for safety and therefore is not permitted in dietary supplements. This particular formulation is intended for the prevention and correction of liver damage. Additionally, the product has not been registered with EOF. Companies that have supplied it are required to immediately implement the decision, which serves as a precautionary measure to protect Public Health.
