A significant burden has been borne by the increase in respiratory infections, such as , after the holidays. According to the latest report of the EOMI, on Thursday (09.01.2025), the week from 30 December 2024 to 5 January 2025 seven serious cases of flu treated in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were recorded in hospitals. CORVERSE Of these, the three incidents concern men and four women, aged 19 to 81. The youngest patient who was admitted to ICU is only 19 years old. Unfortunately, in the same period a death was recorded from a laboratory confirmed flu. Data indicate an increase in flu-positiveness with the formula A to dominate the samples of the SARI surveillance network (Several Acute Respiratory Infection). At the same time, there is also a rise in the positiveness of samples for coronavirus. CORVERSE Since the start of surveillance, at the end of September 2024, 31 cases of severe flu requiring hospitalisation in the ICU and four deaths have been recorded. In addition, over a year, deaths from laboratory confirmed flu amount to 65. As far as coronavirus is concerned, imports have declined slightly, reaching 538 in the last week.
