The enrollment process for public kindergartens and General Education Elementary Schools will take place electronically, with the relevant platforms now open. Parents and guardians can submit applications for enrolling their children in public kindergartens and elementary schools until March 24, 2025, for kindergartens and until March 26, 2025, for first-grade elementary school. Authentication on the platforms is done using Taxisnet codes. Applicants will be informed via SMS about the progress of their application and any required actions. The assigned school is determined by the electronic system based on the permanent residential address of the parents/guardians. Additionally, as announced by the Ministry of Education, the platform automates the management processes handled by kindergarten or elementary school directors and Primary Education Departments for the final allocation of students to schools. These platforms leverage the strategic interconnection of public systems and utilize the infrastructure of the National Communication Registry, the Panhellenic School Network, myschool, and the Citizens’ Registry. The Ministry of Education also revealed that the ‘First Grade Enrollment’ system is a new service designed and implemented by the Ministry of Education, Religion, and Sports. The ‘First Enrollment’ system for kindergartens was launched in 2020 by the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructure (GRNET), under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Governance. Detailed instructions for using the platform for kindergarten and first-grade enrollment are available at the respective links.
