ENFIA Relief for Properties in Earthquake-Affected Areas of Crete

Property owners in areas affected by the earthquakes that occurred on July 24, 2021, and September 27, 2021, in Crete are exempt from paying the Unified Property Tax (ENFIA) for 2025. This applies to properties classified as either ‘dangerous or unsuitable for use’ or ‘potentially dangerous.’ The specific regions covered by this exemption are outlined in the joint ministerial decision, as amended by the D.A.E.F.K.-K.E./housing 18135/A325/13.10.2021 (B’ 4740) and D.A.E.F.K-K.E./18450/A325 (B’ 4882/21.10.2021) joint ministerial decisions. The relevant provision will be included in the draft law titled ‘Capital Market Enhancement’ submitted by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, which is expected to be tabled for a vote in Parliament in early April.
