An emergency sailing of the passenger-vehicle ferry ‘Blue Star Paros’ has been decided to address increased maritime needs. The ‘Blue Star Paros’ will undertake an emergency route due to the excessive passenger load on the ‘Blue Star Mykonos,’ which carried passengers from Ikaria to Syros, with their final destination being Piraeus port. Specifically, according to the company, the ship ‘Blue Star Mykonos,’ operating on the route Thessaloniki – Lemnos – Agios Efstratios – Mytilene – Chios – Vathy – Karlovassi – Fournoi – Evdilos – Mykonos – Syros – Piraeus, is carrying around 300 passengers who had purchased tickets from Ikaria to Syros, but approximately 220 of them have Piraeus as their final destination. An urgent count is required to disembark all ticketed passengers for Syros and board the 1,015 passengers with valid tickets for the Syros–Piraeus route. The ‘Blue Star Paros’ is expected to arrive in Syros at around 01:00.
