Elon Musk Joins Trump’s Return to White House Aboard Marine One

American President Donald Trump returned to the White House from his resort in Florida on Sunday evening (02.03.25), accompanied by some notable guests aboard the presidential helicopter: Elon Musk, his mother Maye, and his four-year-old son X. Photos and videos circulating online show Elon Musk, now a special advisor to Trump, disembarking from Marine One alongside Maye and young X. The billionaire, as per his usual style, placed his son on his shoulders and greeted reporters, as did Musk’s mother. Not only was Musk present with the American president over the past weekend at Mar-a-Lago, but he retained his privileged position, returning together aboard the helicopter that landed at the South Lawn of the White House in Washington. It is common for presidents to bring additional guests aboard Air Force One and Marine One, usually family members. For example, Joe Biden often traveled with his son Hunter and his wife, as well as grandchildren and in-laws. However, the appearance of Elon Musk’s mother aboard the aircraft after a weekend at Mar-a-Lago seemed like an extraordinary privilege for a presidential advisor, sparking criticism on social media. Tennessee election commissioner Chris Jackson commented negatively on the situation. “This is absolutely insane. Elon Musk, his eccentric mother Maye, and one of his young children were transported via Air Force One and Marine One directly to the White House, where they apparently stayed,” he wrote, adding: “What the hell is going on? It’s obvious this isn’t normal.” Many agreed with him: “Now Air Force One is Uber and the White House is Airbnb. Fantastic. Just fantastic,” one person remarked, while another added: “This is outrageous and a waste of taxpayer money.” Another commenter chimed in: “Since when is the White House a hotel for advisors?”
