Twitter continues to face issues even today, just hours after an extensive cyberattack on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter). On Monday evening, Elon Musk provided explanations for the problems on X, stating they originated from Ukraine. Initially, Musk tweeted, “We get attacked every day, but this was well-resourced. Either a large, coordinated group or a nation-state is involved.” Hours later, speaking on Fox Business, he claimed the hackers were from Ukraine: “We’re not entirely sure what happened, but there was a massive cyberattack aimed at taking down the X system using IP addresses originating from the Ukraine region.” He made no further statements and provided no additional details about the attack. This incident occurred shortly after Musk’s statement that Ukraine would collapse if the satellite communications provider, Starlink, were shut down. He later attempted to retract his comments, saying he would never do such a thing.
