Elevator Fall in Children’s “Saint Sophia”: “He took a sharp dive and the doctor managed to crawl out”

Another incident with a fall in Athens occurred on Wednesday morning (15.1. 25) a few days after the elevator accident in “Red Stavros”, which resulted in the injury of four people. According to a complaint by the doctor and trade unionist, Panagiotis Papanikolaou, the new elevator incident took place at the Children’s Hospital “Saint Sophia”. Inside the elevator was a resident doctor, who took the elevator from the seventh and this suddenly began to develop speed and stopped on the second floor of the hospital. ADVERSE “This incident took place at two a.m. on Wednesday morning. A fellow vicar was called in for an incident. The guest rooms are on the seventh floor and took the elevator down. Then the elevator took a steep dive and stopped between third and second and fortunately the door opened,” Panayiotis Papanikolaou tells the newssit gr about the incident. As he argues, this elevator is not only used by hospital doctors but also by many patients. “The doctor was fortunately not seriously injured only some bruising on the arm had and managed to crawl out. In this elevator, patients, infants enter in incubators as well as children with severe intubation, not only doctors use it,” he claims. CORVERSE According to what Panayiotis Papanikolaou says when the doctor went to report the incident the next day, she faced some difficulties in reporting the event. “It has a meaning and the attitude of the authorities who initially told her that she should contact the on-call electrician herself and there is also legislation for twenty years that says that in such cases she should be called and immediately come to the hospital to take charge of the deputy commander of the unit because this is within his duties. The next day the doctor wanted to report the incident and told her that to receive her report she must be signed by the director of her clinic otherwise they cannot receive it.” According to Panagiotis Papanikolaou, they are currently awaiting answers about the incident that occurred. “We expect the Single Children’s Administration Saint Sophia Aglaia Kyriakou to answer us about whether there are lift maintenance certificates,” he comments. President Michael Giannakos, speaking at newssit.gr, reports about the new elevator drop incident that the elevator brakes worked and that’s why he stopped on the second floor and has fortunately not been harmed or a resident doctor or anyone inside.
