A quantity of 744 kilos of cocaine was seized in El Salvador during an operation to dismantle a trafficking ring operating with bases, especially on the country’s beaches. The sale value of the confiscated quantity, as announced by the Authorities, is estimated to exceed 18 million dollars.
The traffickers were based in La Paz and San Miguel, in the eastern part of the country between Honduras and Guatemala. Nine people were arrested in the operation, which took place on Wednesday and Thursday, including a Guatemalan.
The operation was carried out by the drug prosecution service, following information that spoke about the use of beach facilities in the two areas, which are bathed by the Pacific Ocean, in order to move “large quantities of drugs”, according to the prosecutor’s office.
In addition to drugs, police confiscated several rifles and pistols.
