EKO Aircraft Fueling Services in Greece

EKO: Safe, Reliable Aircraft Fueling Across Greece – Serving Over 110,000 Flights Annually

in

As a member of HELLENiQ ENERGY, EKO continues to play a pivotal role in supporting Greece’s aviation sector by ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted aircraft fueling across the country. Through an extensive network of Aircraft Refueling Stations at major Greek airports, EKO serves more than 110,000 aircraft each year — helping maintain smooth and year-round air transport operations.

High-Standard Aviation Fuel and Sustainability Commitment

The company supplies airlines with high-specification aviation fuel, fully compliant with the most stringent international quality and safety standards. In parallel, EKO actively contributes to reducing aviation’s environmental footprint by offering Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), supporting the industry’s decarbonisation goals.

International Recognition for Operational Excellence

EKO’s commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence was recently affirmed with the international Sustained Performance Award from the Joint Inspection Group (JIG) — awarded to three of its refuelling stations in Heraklion, Chania, and Rhodes. This distinction is granted only to facilities demonstrating consistently outstanding performance in operations, safety, and quality, following rigorous official inspections.

In 2025, the award was presented to just 43 aircraft refuelling stations worldwide — out of approximately 700 JIG-inspected facilities globally — underscoring the significance of the recognition and the high operational standards maintained by EKO’s infrastructure.

About JIG and EKO’s Longstanding Partnership

JIG (www.jig.org) is the leading international organisation developing standards for aviation fuel handling. Its standards are applied at over 2,750 airports across 100 countries. EKO has participated in JIG’s inspection programme since 2019 and consistently invests in training and developing its personnel — having already certified two internal JIG inspectors and continuously strengthening its capabilities in quality, safety, and operational excellence.

This latest accolade reflects the long-standing dedication of EKO’s team and the company’s unwavering focus on delivering top-tier services to airlines and the millions of passengers travelling to and from Greece every year.
