Egypt: 13 jihadists killed in operations in Sinai

Thirteen jihadists have been killed in clashes with army forces in the Sinai Peninsula in eastern Egypt, a spokesman for the armed forces has said.

Nine Egyptian soldiers were “killed or wounded”, according to a press release issued by the General Staff spokesman.

It is not clear when or exactly where the operations were carried out, during which those whom the staff calls jihadists were killed.

According to the press release, 15 automatic rifles, ammunition, motorcycles, mobile phones, binoculars, and large amounts of cash in various currencies were confiscated.
