EERA: Marginally more expensive this year’s christmas table

Marginally more expensive by 1.82% compared to 2014, it is expected… this year’s christmas table, in accordance with Institute of Commerce and Services (INEMY) of the EERA,which made sampling from 16 to 21 December.In particular, the christmas family table will cost 147,39 euro against 144,76 € that cost last year and 147,75 2013, the same time, with exactly the same products.The recorded, compared with December 2014, a small increase of 2.63 euros (corresponding to a percentage increase of 1,82%), due primarily to the increased rates of VAT of cakes (kourabiedes and melomakarona) from 13% to 23%.The prices of meat showed a negative annual change, rate of 2.22% (sampling from a butcher shop).More specifically, in the category of meats the most remarkable change is the price of the lamb (-4,62%), which is around 6,2 euro/kilo, followed by a smaller decrease in the price of the turkey (-3,03%), while in contrast to an increase of the order of 2,70% displays the price of pork.Mixed is the trend for supermarket products, as well as, while for soft drinks, beers and the slice of it is noted a reduction -3,03%, -6,56% -2,07% respectively, a rise of show wines (24,59% white and 4,62% red) and the price of olive oil (14,81%).The cost of supply of fruit and vegetables moving in lower than last year’s levels (-0,92%).However, the price of potatoes recording the biggest increase (18,52%), in contrast with the decline in the price of cabbage (-16,28%) which notes the greatest annual decline.In the category of sweets/dishes that the average rise, mainly because of increased VAT rates from 13% to 23% in the melomakarona and kourabiedes, approaching 8,36% compared with the corresponding period of last year.
