Ecclesiastical Calendar: Who Celebrates on May 4, 2025?

Today, Sunday (May 4, 2025), according to the ecclesiastical calendar, we honor the memory of the Myrrh-bearing Women, Saint Pelagia the Martyr, Hilarius the Miracle-Worker, and Meldas the Martyr. The names celebrated today include: Pelagia, Pelagoula, Pelagina, Pelagitsa, Pelagiou, Pelages, Pelagios, Hilarion, Melis, Melos, Melios, Melas, Melia, Melitsa, Myrophore. When Joseph and Nicodemus requested and received the Lord’s body from Pilate, they took it down from the cross, wrapped it in fine linen with selected spices, placed it in a hewn tomb, and set a large stone over the entrance while Mary Magdalene and another Mary watched, sitting opposite the tomb.
