Earthquakes in the Cyclades: Closed schools and Wednesdays in Tinos

Earthquakes in the Cyclades continue unabated with the municipality of Tinos deciding to keep schools closed and on Wednesday 5 February. Specifically, all schools in Tinos will remain closed on Wednesday (05/02/2025) according to the decision of the mayor of the island, as the earthquakes in the Cyclades continue. CORVERSE As the newest decision of the Mayor of Tinos states: The Mayor of Tinos, having regard to the provisions of Article 58(1) of Law 3852/2010 (Government Gazette 7/A/2010), 2.The provisions of Article 75 par. I verse or verse of Law 3463/2006 (F.E.K. 114 A’/8.6.2006) “The ratification of the Code of Municipalities and Communities”, according to which the coordination and supervision of the Civil Protection work for the prevention, preparedness, treatment and rehabilitation of disasters occurring in their administrative boundaries is included in the Municipalities’ responsibilities: the suspension, for preventive reasons, of the operation of the School Units of all grades of education, pre-school education structures and all sports facilities of the Municipality of Tinos, on Wednesday 5 February 2025, due to the continuation of the unprecedented, for our region, seismic activity”.
