Earthquake 7.1 Richter in Japan – tsunami warning issued

A strong magnitude of 6,9 Richter occurred on Thursday morning (Greece time) and a tsunami warning was immediately issued. A few minutes later the earthquake intensity was revised upwards. Reuters reports that a warning was issued immediately after the earthquake. The warning says a tsunami of at least one metre is expected to hit the southern regions of Japan, half an hour after the earthquake. So far no more evidence has been known. According to the Japanese Weather Service the earthquake was 7.1 degrees in size. The tsunami warning concerns areas of the islands of Kyushu and Sikoku, broadcast the NHK network of public broadcasting.
