Driver of Mercedes Faces Prosecutor Over Fatal Crash That Killed Anti-Mayor Kostas Stavrogiannis

On Monday morning (June 23), the 34-year-old driver of the Mercedes involved in a fatal collision was brought before the prosecutor. The accident occurred on the Prophitis Ilias regional road over the weekend, resulting in the death of anti-mayor Kostas Stavrogiannis and severe injuries to his wife. The driver is under investigation for dangerous driving under Article 290A, which led to the death of another person. The 34-year-old will defend himself at 1:30 PM on Tuesday and will remain detained at the Phthiotis Police Station until then.
