Actress Dora Chrysikou addressed the recent first-instance court ruling in the legal dispute between actor Giorgos Kimoulis and fellow actress Panagiota Vlanti during an appearance on the morning show Buongiorno, hosted by Faye Skordas on MEGA TV on Wednesday.
A pattern of legal setbacks
Chrysikou highlighted a series of first-instance rulings involving Kimoulis — both as plaintiff and defendant — noting that he has lost all such cases so far. She pointed out that Kimoulis had filed criminal complaints and civil lawsuits against several individuals, including Vlanti, members of the Greek Actors’ Union (SEH), and the union itself, seeking €50,000 in damages. All were dismissed at first instance.
She also referenced Kimoulis’s conviction as a moral instigator in a separate case involving false testimony — linked to widely reported incidents during a theatrical production — where the alleged eyewitness was convicted of perjury.
‘Unimaginable harassment’
Chrysikou described the conduct of Kimoulis’s legal team as deeply troubling: “We’re enduring unimaginable harassment — irony, mockery, and outright insults — from Mr. Kimoulis’s lawyer.”
She added that for three and a half years, actresses including herself have remained silent while being publicly labeled on television as a “gang” or “Troika,” waiting stoically for what Kimoulis himself repeatedly invokes and promotes: justice. “Now that rulings have been issued on certain incidents, there’s complete silence — a deafening fish’s silence,” she said.
Background: The Vlanti case
The court decision concerned statements Vlanti made in 2023 to the press and on television about alleged abusive behavior by Kimoulis toward colleagues. In her closing argument, the prosecutor emphasized that Vlanti expressed opinions she genuinely believed to be true — based on confidences shared with her by fellow actors — and therefore lacked criminal intent.
