Donald Trump’s online store is selling red caps emblazoned with the slogan ‘Trump 2028.’ These caps refer to the next presidential elections in the United States, which, according to the Constitution, Donald Trump cannot participate in. A Twitter account associated with Donald Trump posted a photo on April 24, 2025, showing his son Eric Trump, aged 78, wearing one of these new caps. The caps are priced at €50 each. Despite this merchandising effort, recent polls indicate a sharp decline in approval ratings for Trump’s handling of cost-of-living issues and chaotic trade policies. According to the 22nd Amendment, no person can be elected to the office of President more than twice. Although Trump served from 2017 to 2021, he continues to hint at a possible third term, suggesting there are ways to make it happen. Repealing the two-term limit would require a constitutional amendment, needing a two-thirds majority in Congress, an unlikely scenario for Republicans, followed by ratification by at least 38 out of the 50 states.
