Donald Trump released a video message on Truth Social early Saturday morning (04.10.2025), stating that ‘everyone will be treated fairly’ under his peace plan for Gaza, which Hamas has positively responded to. In the roughly one-minute video celebrating the acceptance of his Gaza proposal, Trump said: ‘Today is a great day. We’ll see how it unfolds. Now is the time to finalize the details.’ The U.S. President thanked Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and others he said contributed to negotiations for the peace agreement. ‘We are very close to achieving peace in the Middle East,’ he added. Earlier, following Hamas’s response, Trump called on Israel to immediately halt its bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip. ‘Based on the statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for lasting PEACE,’ Trump stated. ‘Israel must stop bombing Gaza immediately so we can safely and quickly release the hostages! Right now, it’s too dangerous. We are already discussing the details that need to be settled. This isn’t just about Gaza — it’s about long-awaited PEACE in the Middle East.’ Hamas announced late Friday (03.10.2025) that it agrees to release Israeli hostages, both living and deceased, as part of Trump’s peace initiative. The group also expressed willingness to enter talks on further details, including transferring administrative control of the enclave to a Palestinian body of independent leaders. However, other aspects of the 20-point plan, it noted, require further consultation among Palestinians.
