Donald Trump Raises Tariffs on Chinese Goods to 20%

President Donald Trump signed an executive order today (March 3, 2025) increasing tariffs from 10% to 20% on products imported from China into the U.S. Additionally, Trump accused China of not doing enough to curb the flow of fentanyl into the United States. The customs tariffs, initially announced on February 1 as a measure to combat the opioid crisis in the U.S., are now being implemented due to China’s ‘inability’ to ‘combat the flood of fentanyl that is overwhelming our country,’ according to a White House post on X.
