Donald Trump: Open to Resuming Aid to Ukraine if Peace Talks Progress

US President Donald Trump is considering resuming American aid to Ukraine if peace talks progress and confidence-building measures are implemented, White House National Security Advisor Mike Walls announced on Wednesday (05.03.25). “I think we can finalize these negotiations and move forward with them by putting some confidence-building measures on the table; then President Trump will consider lifting the aid suspension,” Walls stated in an interview with Fox News. This announcement comes just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared his readiness to sign a deal regarding his country’s natural resources with the US. It should be noted that Donald Trump had previously suspended military aid to Ukraine on Clean Monday as part of his final push to reshape US policy and adopt a more conciliatory stance towards Russia. On Tuesday evening, the US president mentioned receiving a letter from Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressing willingness to come to the negotiating table.
