U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday (04.07.2025) that Iran has not agreed to inspections of its nuclear program or to abandon uranium enrichment. Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, Trump claimed he believes Tehran’s nuclear program has been permanently dismantled, although Iran could potentially restart it in a different location.
Trump added that he will discuss Iran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he visits the White House on Monday. When asked by reporters traveling with him on the presidential aircraft, Trump expressed cautious optimism regarding the possibility of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, though he noted that “the situation changes day by day.”
Commenting on reports that Hamas had positively responded to the latest proposal from negotiators, the U.S. president said: “That’s good. I haven’t been briefed on it yet. We need to finish this. We must do something for Gaza.”
Regarding the war in Ukraine, Trump reiterated that he was “very disappointed” after his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He described the situation as very difficult and criticized Putin for wanting to continue fighting and killing people.
Trump warned during the call that new sanctions could be imposed against Moscow and added that Putin is concerned about such a possibility and understands that it may be imminent. The U.S. president also spoke yesterday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and emphasized during the conversation that Washington might send Patriot air defense systems to Kyiv.
