Donald Trump: His sentence announcement on the Stormy Daniels case is postponed

The announcement of his sentence for concealing the payment paid to the porn star before the 2016 election is indefinitely postponed, as it became known today (22.11.2024). Judge Juan Mercan, who was to rule on the sentence on 26 November, gave the advocates of the elected president the opportunity to appeal, by 2 December, to request the annulment of the procedure in the Stormy Daniels case, as they sought. Consequently, Donald Trump’s sentence announcement is postponed. Trump was found guilty on May 30 for forgery of accounting documents, aiming to conceal Daniels’ payment. Manhattan’s prosecution opened the way for the case to be annulled on Tuesday, when prosecutor Alvin Bragg said the issue should be considered, although he opposes the postponement. But he recognised that the possibility of freezing all the persecutions “until the end of the term” of the 47th President of the United States should be studied. Of the four criminal cases against Donald Trump, only that of Stormy Daniels has been tried. The elected president was found guilty of attempting to hide from voters that he paid $130,000 to the love film protagonist in order to avoid a scandal prior to the 2016 presidential election. Merchant gave Trump’s advocates a deadline until 2 December to submit their appeal in writing, while the prosecution should respond by 9th.
