A Greek man has filed a criminal complaint with authorities over the disappearance of his 50-year-old Chinese wife, Yu Ting, raising serious concerns of abduction and murder. The complaint — submitted on Monday, 13 July 2026 — urges a thorough investigation into what he describes as a deeply troubling and opaque case.
Through his lawyer, Anastasios Doukas, the husband provided detailed documentation to authorities, which newsit.gr has reviewed. The documents outline Yu Ting’s final known movements, describe the couple’s relationship, and lay out his growing fears about her fate.
In the complaint, he notes that he formally reported her disappearance in June via his brother, as he was away on a business trip to China at the time. He then offers a precise timeline of her last verified activities:
«On 20 May 2026 — while I was abroad on business in China — my wife’s last appearance on external security camera footage was recorded at the entrance of our shared residence. Our last communication occurred that same day at 11:09 a.m., via WeChat, when she sent me a TAP certificate issued the same day by the Municipality of Spata. Later that morning, at 11:16 a.m., she exchanged messages with my mother via Viber, sending her a photo taken at a bus stop. Additionally, the driver of Athens urban bus line 305 (St. Numismatic Museum – Artemis) confirmed transporting her from the Spata Municipal Building to the Numismatic Museum metro station between 11:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Since then, she has vanished — with no further contact from her, to me or anyone else I know.»
Their Life Together
The husband also details their personal and professional life. «We have been married since 2002. She holds a Greek residence permit as the spouse of an EU citizen. Since September 2025, we have lived in her privately owned home in Artemida, Attica. We have no children, nor any known disputes, disagreements, or tensions.»
Yu Ting worked as a Chinese-to-Greek translator and managed real estate for fellow Chinese nationals seeking Greek Golden Visa residency permits and investment opportunities.
According to the complaint, only a few personal items are missing from their home: her passport, residence permit, driver’s license, and a Louis Vuitton handbag — all items she reportedly carried with her to handle official procedures at the Spata Municipality, where she obtained the TAP certificate on 20 May.
Fears for Her Safety
Concluding his statement, the husband expresses grave concern for his wife’s life and reiterates his belief that her disappearance is not voluntary — but the result of foul play. He insists on urgent, comprehensive investigative action to uncover the truth behind her sudden and unexplained vanishing.
