In another impressive performance, Dimitris Paulidis made headlines once again. The 21-year-old discus thrower on Sunday (4/13/2025) during competitions held in Oklahoma shattered the national record twice—on his first and fifth attempts! Paulidis started the competition with an incredible throw of 65.09 meters, surpassing his previous national record of 64.90 meters set on April 14, 2023. However, 65.09 meters was not destined to remain as the new national record for long. Within less than half an hour, Paulidis achieved an even better throw. On his fifth attempt, he sent the discus flying to 65.11 meters. The Greek athlete, who resides and studies in the U.S., had two more invalid throws, recorded 60.04 meters on his fourth throw, and finished with 61.54 meters on his sixth attempt. Paulidis secured fifth place in the competition, with Maurotius Ortega taking first place with a throw of 69.00 meters.
