In a recent interview with the ‘Weekenders’ show on ANT1, Dimitra Lianou Papandreou discussed political developments in Greece, the state of PASOK, and her absence from television appearances. She explained, “It’s not my fault; there are people who serve the interests of television and do not want opinions like mine. So, wherever I have the opportunity, I exercise criticism. I do not disdain any channel or journalist.” In strong terms, she critiqued the political journey of PASOK, particularly under George Papandreou’s leadership and its consequences. “This is not the PASOK we once knew. It’s a transformed party that has realized the cost. Especially George Papandreou was the great disaster.” She added, “I wouldn’t be part of this PASOK. Greece’s foreign policy direction is on the wrong side of history. They will hit their heads down.” Furthermore, she remarked on the shift in PASOK after Andreas Papandreou’s death, criticizing Costas Simitis as someone who never truly represented PASOK.
