Starting Thursday, June 26, 2025, the pilot application of the Digital Work Card will extend to businesses in the wholesale trade, energy, financial sector, as well as administrative and support activities in tourism. Full implementation for these sectors will take effect on November 3, 2025. With the inclusion of these enterprises, the measure of the Digital Work Card will cover an additional 350,000 workers, bringing the total number of protected employees to 1.85 million. The enforcement of this measure significantly combats undeclared and unreported work, protecting both workers from unfair practices and businesses from instances of unfair competition. According to data from the ERGANI system for April 2025, recorded overtime across all sectors implementing the Digital Work Card has increased by 78% compared to April 2024. The most notable increase in recorded overtime is seen in the tourism sector, with a rise of +1,105%. Significant increases are also observed in other major employment sectors that have been mandatorily included in the Digital Work Card from July 2024 to March 2025: Retail (+131%), Catering (+105%), and Industry (+68%). These figures confirm the effectiveness of the Digital Work Card measure and highlight its crucial role in accurately recording actual working hours.
