Strong reactions have been sparked in the market over the digital customer log, which has begun to be implemented on a pilot basis by the sector according to ertnews. Even before the measure becomes mandatory (from July 1), the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) and the Association of Information and Communications Enterprises (SEPE) are raising concerns about complex and time-consuming procedures, as well as gaps and complications in the application of the digital customer log by AADE, initially targeting the automotive sector. The Chambers, in a letter to Finance Minister Christos Pierakkis and AADE Director George Pitsilis, request the withdrawal of the measure, arguing that it does not facilitate businesses during their digital transition but instead creates additional operational difficulties. A key issue highlighted is the lack of communication between the relevant platform and existing electronic management systems. SEPE emphasizes that businesses were not given sufficient time to adapt after the decision was made, pointing out discrepancies between the initial test environment and the final technical specifications, leading to confusion. Under these conditions, they believe they will not be able to start issuing digital receipts by June 1 and consider it unfair for penalties to be imposed on customers. Despite acknowledging potential issues, the leadership of the Ministry of Finance intends to discuss them without considering withdrawing the measure, citing data showing non-compliance rates as high as 65% in parking lots, car washes, and garages. The implementation is already active on the AADE website, with an improved mobile version expected next month allowing professionals to scan vehicle license plates, automatically transmitting all details directly to authorities. If no extension is granted, penalties of €100 per unrecorded vehicle could begin after a reasonable adjustment period. From July 1, the optional digital customer log becomes mandatory for car repair and maintenance services, vehicle signage, installation of sound systems and accessories, parking spaces, car washes, and vehicle rentals. Exemptions include financial leasing companies, self-service operations, certain new vehicle delivery tasks, private gated property parking rentals without additional services, detached parts repairs, and business-owned customer parking areas.
