Diego Maradona Case: Former Bodyguard Arrested for Perjury

Although Diego Maradona passed away in 2020, his death case continues to unfold in courtrooms. The former bodyguard of the legendary footballer, Julio Cesar Coria, was recently arrested in Argentina for perjury during court proceedings. On the day of Maradona’s death, Coria served as his personal bodyguard. In court, he claimed ignorance of Maradona’s infamous doctor, Leopoldo Luque, who is accused in the case. However, authorities uncovered WhatsApp messages between the two discussing Maradona’s health. Following a warrant from the Buenos Aires Prosecution, Coria was arrested and will now testify as a witness in the trial, charged with perjury.
