The 19-year-old Russian woman showed the necessary coolness at that point and – difficult to conquer the last two games – took the first set 7-5. Sakkaris and Schneider reached 3–3 in the second set, with the Greek tennis player achieving the break she was looking for and doing 3–4 and then 3–5. The Russian woman took the next game to eventually lose the 6–4 set. The victory was judged in a third set. Maria Sakkari had the momentum on her side, Schneider seemed not to set foot so well on her left foot, the Greek champion made three breaks and reached 0-6 and qualified.
