Speaking at the panel of the second meeting of the Forum, on the Western Balkans, Nikos Dendias said that this region is vital for the influence and credibility of the European Union.
He also noted that the EU’s main goal is to help the Western Balkans meet all the conditions for full integration, supporting fundamental democratic principles, the rule of law, economic reforms, and harmonization with key European values.
He made special reference to Northern Macedonia and Albania. “We have finally succeeded in opening the accession negotiations and we look forward to organizing the first Intergovernmental Conference with Northern Macedonia and Albania as soon as possible, of course in accordance with the established conditions,” the Foreign Minister said.
