Dejan Lovren was born on 5 July 1989 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina and grew up in Croatia. At the age of 14 he joined the Dinamo Zagreb academy and on May 10, 2006 he made his professional debut in a match against Varazdin. In 2006 he went on loan to Inter Zapresic to get toys on his feet, returned to Dinamo in June 2008 and remained until summer 2010. During these two years he won two championships, one cup and recorded 57 entries, three goals and one assist. So at 21 years, the first major transfer for the Croatian defender came.
