Public Power Corporation Network (DEDDHE) is boosting its workforce in Thessaloniki to promptly address the rising number of requests for new electricity connections. According to a DEDDHE document submitted to Parliament, 4,000 new connection requests were completed in 2025, with 770 still pending. Notably, over 850 new connections were implemented in Eastern Thessaloniki alone during the last two months, highlighting strong demand. To accelerate the process, DEDDHE has transferred engineering staff from other regions to its Thessaloniki Studies Department and reinforced contractor teams. Additionally, the digital platform myDEDDHE services, launched in September, enables easy and fast application submission and direct communication with service departments. These measures are expected to significantly reduce the backlog of requests and normalize service delivery. So far, more than 50,000 old meters have been replaced with smart meters across the city.
