In a recent interview, Daphne Bokota spoke about the possibility of returning as a commentator for Eurovision. As preparations for this year’s semi-finals are underway, Maria Kozakou and Giorgos Kapoutzidis have taken over the commentary duties. However, Daphne Bokota has opened discussions regarding her potential return to the prestigious event where she has vast experience. Although she expressed a desire to return, she emphasized that it would only happen under specific conditions. ‘It depends on many factors now for me to do the commentary, because Eurovision itself is not what I know. It has changed a lot,’ said Bokota during the ‘Super Katierina’ show with Katerina Kainourgia. The national presenter highlighted that while her return would be welcomed, it must align with the new needs and perspectives of the competition. ‘I would like to do it and could under certain conditions. It had a different magic back then, and even though we didn’t know the glories they know today, we went alone with just wood from Greece,’ remarked Bokota. Finally, reflecting on her relationship with ERT, Daphne Bokota remembered both the good times and challenges: ‘I am a child of ERT, I love it, and everything I’ve done was through ERT. With certain people during a specific era, things didn’t go well. That doesn’t mean I can’t rebuild bridges with others at some point, but never with the same people.’
